The Carmelite Nuns in New Ross warmly welcome you and hope you will marvel at the artistry of those who have gone before us.

The Nuns wish the lace, patterns, and records of The Mount Carmel Collection to be permanently exhibited in New Ross. This website strives to permit access and facilitate an online exhibition where people, far and near, can view samples from The Mount Carmel Collection. Only a few pieces have been conserved and the majority awaits funding for expertise to safeguard them for future generations. Most of the pieces you will see have never been exhibited previously and are not conserved nor mounted for exhibition. The exhibits only represent a cross-section of the collection.

The Carmelites dedicate this online exhibition to the generations of New Ross women and girls who made Mount Carmel New Ross Lace a byword for excellence in artistry and innovation and who brought international accolades to New Ross We hope to link with their descendants to record family lore for posterity.
