Mount Carmel New Ross Lace
Mount Carmel New Ross Lace was a highly sought-after luxury status symbol to be worn by the wealthiest people in Europe, to embellish ecclesiastical robes and altars and to decorate the homes of the rich.
However, its roots lay in a vision to alleviate poverty and to provide a means of employment for some of the poorest women in New Ross.
The Carmelite Nuns dedicate this website to the memories of these talented lace makers whose dedicated hard work supported their families and brought glory to New Ross.
Thanks be to God for granting success to the work of our hands. Amen!
